Danakali Limited (ASX: DNK, LSE: DNK) is focused on the development of the world class Colluli Potassium Sulphate Project in the Danakil region of the East African state of Eritrea, East Africa. Colluli is the world's most advanced and commercially attractive potassium sulphate (SOP) development worldwide.
Colluli has a world class potassium sulphate ore reserve with over 1.1 billion tonnes of potassium containing salts suitable for the production of potassium fertilizers. Colluli is 100% owned by Colluli Mining Share Company ("CMSC"), a 50:50 joint venture between Danakali and Eritrean National Mining Corporation (ENAMCO). CMCS plans to fully develop this vast, high grade resource using a low risk development approach. The initial focus will be on potassium sulphate production. This is a high-quality, chloride-free potash salt variety with multi-nutrient properties that are produced in only a few primary production centers worldwide. Colluli's mineralization starts at only 16 m below the surface, making the project one of the shallowest potassium sulfate projects in the world and allowing open pit mining, the easiest and cheapest method of potash mining.
